Beyond 20/20's Exciting New Clients and Contracts
Luxembourg to Use Beyond 20/20 for Dissemination of Statistical, Economical and Social Data
STATEC, Luxembourg’s central statistics agency, has purchased the Beyond 20/20 Web Data Server (WDS) and the Beyond 20/20 Data Connection Wizard to publish Luxembourg’s statistical, economical, and social data online. With WDS, STATEC can serve the general public while providing tools that enable data users to manipulate the data, create charts, and save the data online, with an option to download it to their desktops. STATEC’s audience is not only national, but as a member of the European Union STATEC is obligated to disseminate its data to the European public as well. Beyond 20/20 enables them to achieve this goal.
In a competitive bid, Beyond 20/20’s solution was chosen over the solutions of Australia’s Space Time Research, Web Technologies of France and Luxembourg’s own AREANE II. DataVista (www.datavista.fr), Beyond 20/20’s partner in France, worked closely with Beyond 20/20 to demonstrate the benefits of the Web Data Server solution over that of the competitors.
Beyond 20/20’s Web solution will integrate with STATEC’s CMS solution, and will also be customized to display the data visually on maps. It will also be in French, German and English and will be available to the public on Luxembourg’s Web site in mid-2004.
Beyond 20/20’s Web Solution to be translated to Catalan for the Statistical Institute of Catalonia
The Statistical Institute of Catalonia has purchased Beyond 20/20’s Web solution for the dissemination of Catalonia’s statistics. Catalonia is Spain’s second most populous autonomous region and is located in Barcelona. The Institute’s goals were to provide the data to end-users in an easy-to-use format over the Web. The Web Data Server will be translated into Catalan, so end-users can easily toggle between Spanish, English and Catalan as required. With Beyond 20/20’s solution, the general public, and national and European audiences will be able to access population and economic data, and manipulate the data, chart it, print it and analyze it easily. It is expected that the data will be available on their site by early Spring. You can learn more about the Statistical Institute of Catalonia at www.idescat.es.
Beyond 20/20’s European partner and reseller, Timberlake (www.timberlakeconsulting.com) was instrumental in securing the contract, and will assist in the implementation.
Tip of the Month
Did you know that when you are in the item selection page in the Beyond 20/20 Web Data Server version 7, you are able to change the position of the dimensions in the table? On the left side of the item selection screen there is a list of dimensions that are divided in three sections; row, column and other. The other dimensions appear above the report area. You can drag-and-drop the dimensions within these three sections.
After the items are selected and the dimensions are positioned, select the View as table button. The screen changes to a table view with the selected items and the dimensions appear in their new position. This feature allows you to save time by creating your own report with only a few clicks.
