Beyond 20/20 Introduces Web Data Server Version 7.3

Beyond 20/20 Web Data Server (WDS) has long been a highly effective tool for manipulating, visualizing and understanding numeric data and all associated textual data within a Web environment. Effective June 17, Beyond 20/20 is pleased to announce WDS version 7.3 which builds upon these components to more effectively meet a wider set of customer needs.

Highlights of WDS version 7.3 include:

Enhanced Data Manipulation
Previously included as part of the desktop Builder and Browser products, Beyond 20/20 introduces microdata extracts for Web users. This feature permits fast cross-tabulation of survey and microdata so that end-users can create their own Beyond 20/20 tables and reports.

Users choose the dimensions they are interested in from a list of up to 2,500 variables, select specialized calculations or weighting, and publish the results to the Web in seconds. For data providers, this end-user flexibility reduces support costs since data preparation can be completed by anyone that has been given access to the feature.

High-Impact Visualization
Mapping is a separately priced add-on feature that allows users to see geographical relationships, patterns or trends. WDS 7.3 provides standard and custom mapping.

The standard mapping module includes both navigational and thematic maps:

  • Navigational mapping integrates with the existing WDS search facility and lets users locate reports by selecting areas on a map.
  • Thematic mapping enables end-users to view report data as colored ranges on a map.

Customized mapping allows you to integrate your existing GIS software to support both client-side and server-side mapping tools.

Increased End-User Understanding
WDS has always let you include metadata – textual and descriptive information – to help users understand the data they are analyzing and viewing. With the introduction of WDS 7.3, report-level metadata is also available. When report-level notes are present, an Info icon appears to indicate that summary notes about the report have been created for viewing.

Improved Performance
Beyond 20/20 continues their commitment to performance and stability with WDS version 7.3. We are also releasing a free tool that allows you or our support staff to perform diagnostics from a remote location. For more information, contact Beyond 20/20 support.
