GTEC Week experiences a little 'Seven on Seven'
OTTAWA – Oct. 7, 2003 – Grand slam pricing, Stone Cold Cash contest and knock ‘em out promo gifts for the first 77 people. That’s how one Ottawa-based tech company celebrated its product release at the opening of GTEC Week, Canada’s largest government technology expo. Beyond 20/20 Inc. today released version 7 of its Beyond 20/20 Web Data Server (WDS), a Web-based software for data analysis.
“This is the biggest release this product has seen yet. We not only gave it a new interface, but we conducted usability studies, customer surveys, and put more efforts into research and development than ever before,” said Howard Nadler, president of Beyond 20/20 Inc. “We are really pleased with the results that our development and product management team have produced in this release, and we know that our customers will be just as excited.”
"After viewing a demonstration of version 7, I'd have to say 'wow'," said Jean-Pierre Leroux, Project Manager at the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics of Statistics Canada. "My 'wow' consists of several things. First, I am most impressed with the increased amount of screen space devoted to the data, plus the ability to scroll through the data more easily and the facility of making "custom" reports. What's more, the new version let's us publish PDF files to the Web to accompany our tables, making the data more understandable to the end users."
Statistics Canada, among several other government departments within Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and Europe, and other countries around the world, use Beyond 20/20’s WDS to analyze, visualize and publish information on the Web.
WDS 7 helps organizations get valuable data into the hands of those who need it, fast. With this release, Beyond 20/20 will be the first to offer a combination of dynamic Web-based data analysis tools with stationary headings when scrolling, so users can analyze a large data set without ever getting lost in the data. Additionally, the product’s interface has been given a complete overhaul and a plethora of other enhancements have been made, based on extensive usability studies and customer surveys. Nadler describes this release as a first step in developing a niche in the corporate analytics market. “The government market knows us well, and this release is a step forward in introducing our expertise in intuitive data analysis to the corporate market.”
Playing off of the ‘seven on seven’ theme (version 7 released on Oct. 7th), Beyond 20/20’s release activities will carry through until the doors close on this year’s GTEC Week expo tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. You can find Beyond 20/20 in booth #4018 at the Ottawa Westin Hotel.
