Vermont Crime Information Center Finds Solution with Beyond 20/20s Vista
With a mandate to deliver crime statistics to a broad range of users, the Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) is using Beyond 20/20s Vista to distribute information to the public, victim advocacy groups, police forces, policy makers, legislators, media, and researchers. In addition, the state is transitioning its Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) from a summary-based system to the National Incident Based System (NIBRS), in order to report on more crimes in greater detail.
With such a wide variety of users and increased volumes of data, VCIC needed an interactive, internet-based solution that allowed users to quickly and easily access the specific detail they were looking for without wading through countless static tables in endless menus. Considering all these factors, VCIC chose Beyond 20/20s Vista over several leading “BI” products for its cost effectiveness, ease of use, and most importantly for our demonstrated ability to understand what they wanted to achieve.
With Beyond 20/20s Vista, VCIC will have the ability to publish a much larger volume of data with far less effort than former methods. And by making interactive data available on a Website, clients will be able to access the information they need, when they need it.
