Beyond 20/20 and Forvus Co-sponsor the Cambridge Canadian Club

OTTAWA - October 31, 2003 - Beyond 20/20 and Forvus are proudly sponsoring the Cambridge Canadian Club in the U.K. Forvus is Beyond 20/20’s valued partner in the United Kingdom. This sponsorship will contribute to a variety of the club’s events throughout the year.

The Cambridge Canadian Club has been providing an active and friendly social venue for Canadians studying at the University of Cambridge since 1948. In a typical year, roughly 200 Canadians are in studies in Cambridge, the vast majority in graduate programmes, ranging from law and business management to English and medicine. Students accepted to Cambridge University have distinguished themselves academically and professionally, and typically have the support of prestigious international scholarships, such as the Commonwealth Scholarship, The Bill Gates Scholarship and the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Award.

The Cambridge Canadian Club mounts a number of social events each year, the highlight of which is the High Commissioner's Dinner in wintertime. The Club also plays a key role in facilitating recruitment activities, bringing students and prospective employers into contact with each other. The Privy Council Office of Canada, McKinsey Consulting, Bain & Company, the Boston Consulting Group, and Bordner Ladner Gervais have all conducted recruiting activities in Cambridge with the help of the Cambridge Canadian Club in recent years.

The Club maintains a website and a regular bulletin, in order to keep Canadian students and alumnae informed of events and opportunities of relevance to them. We are also in close contact with the network of Cambridge alumnae societies in Canada, as well as the Canadian expatriate association in the UK, Network Canada.
